Moving or relocating is more often an intimidating experience to many people. However, creating a moving plan ahead of time can help to ensure everything is done without any hassle.

One month before the move date

Time for some house clearance! List down the items you are going to take with you to the new home and give everything else to your family and friends, or even charity.

Take the telephone, get some removals quotes and book the removal service. Ask family/friends to give you some recommendations. Sometimes a man and van removal company might be able to do the movefor you at a cheap price. Complete all needed procedures with the removal firm.

Write down on paper the utility service providers that need notifying and call them up to inform that you are moving.

In the case that you are renting, give notice to your landlord as most renting contracts require at least one month notice. Even if you don’t need to give notice this early, it is a nice gesture to let your landlord know in advance.

Purchase all packing materials that you may require for the move such as wrapping papers or carton boxes.

Two weeks before the moving day

Begin with items you don’t often use (which !) so less time needs to be spent on packing later.

Print out a list of your most used items and where they are going to in your new home.

Contact the removal firm to confirm the moving time and date, locations, and let them know if there is any change with regard to the inventory list, removal service required or any other information.

Notify your local authority about your move so they will stop sending council tax letters to you.

Contact your postal service provider to redirect your mails. They normally provide this with some charges, depending on how long you want to use the mail redirection service.

One week before the move

Pack all items that you want to move except for those you need to use until the move.

Create a list of friends, family, relatives and companies, authorities that you need to inform about your move.

Arrange final electricity and meter readings and sort out outstanding bills.

Cancel or redirect all deliveries such as newspapers, magazines, milk.

Put important and valuable items such as passports, jewellery, driving license and certificates in a safe place.

Obtain a new TV license or transfer existing TV license to your new home.

One day before your moving date

Finish all remaining packing work and prepare a survival kit with essential items such as toilet paper, mugs, tea bags, spare light bulbs etc.

Check with your utility firms whether you have got electricity, gas, telephone, Internet, TV in the new home.

Disconnect all unused appliances and defrost the fridge/freezer.

Clean around the house and leave a nice welcome card for the new owners so they will have a good start at place you used to love.

Have a good sleep to ensure you are ready for the move!

The moving day

Call your removal company to make sure they will be on time.

Turn off electricity, gas and water supplies carefully and disconnect all appliances.

Make sure all doors, windows and house entrances are carefully locked.

Once everything has been loaded on removal vehicles, have a quick look inside to make sure you do not leave anything behind.

Arrival at the new home

Move the boxes to the correct rooms/places they are supposed to be.

Start unpacking from the most important, especially the survival kit.

Check and make sure electricity, gas, water, TV, Internet, telephone and other utilities are running.

They say moving home is one of the most stressful things you’ll do. There’s always one set of boxes that seem to disappear all together and getting all the others packed and labelled correctly is a never easy. First off you have to decide what’s going with you and what needs to be replaced. Most people will make the mistake of simply trying to pack everything into lots of boxes that they’re never going to really need. When you look round your house you’re bound to spot things that don’t even need to be moved to your new house. Then you’ve got the list of things that you probably should have replaced years ago. The two main rooms that account for this problem are the kitchen and the bathroom.

When you move into your new house it will probably already have things like sinks and toilets should already be plumed in. There are other bathroom items that you might need to have installed yourself. For example the bathroom white chest of drawers might not be in your new bathroom but if your old ones are built in your might not be able to move them easily. If your budget will allow it might actually be easier to invest in a new bathroom suite that will be delivered straight to your new home, especially if you buy form a supplier that will install it for you too. After all the cost of pluming and moving your old one might be much more than simply buying a new one.

Your kitchen should be a slightly easier room to move as most of it will have to go with you. It will require a little more planning though, for example don’t forget the fridge needs to be unplugged the day before you need to move it. Don’t forget there are going to be a few boxes that will be needed almost straight away when you reach you new home though. You don’t want to have to spend hours trying to hunt the kettle down just so you can have a decent hot drink. You’ll want to make sure you can get to them easily and that they’re easily labelled. You might want to get a brew on as soon as the big white dining table needs to be moved.

A lot of people seem to have the opinion that London is not a very good city to move to but you will find that their places like property to rent in Earlsfield that actually have great places to live in. so what are the key reasons for moving to London?

More Action

The fact is, there is a lot going on in London, all of the time and it makes sense to move there if you are active all of the time because something is always going on. some of the bars and clubs within London really are brilliant which is why so many people love the city. the crime rate is actually not what people tend to think it is and the atmosphere really is great.

More Pay

you are living in the centre of a city which means you will be getting more money but the cost of living is high also. Although there immediately doesn’t seem to be any benefit to this you will find that you will have more than enough money over to pay for the bills of the estate agents Battersea and have a lot of money over to perhaps go on vacation to Torquay holidays or something like this.

there are so many reasons why people move to London and although these are just two reasons, there are just so many.

take a week out to see if you will like the city, it will be worth it trust me. Don’t travel round the tourist destinations but the place in which you would be living in you move there. So there you go, just a couple of reasons to move to London!

In the end, the choice is yours to make.

Moving is tough to take part in no matter if it is a quick move down the road or a move to another side of the world but of course it is a lot harder to move much further away. Before even moving your home there are actually many things that you need to be thinking about?

Firm Or Yourself?

When it comes to moving, deciding on how to actually do it is something that is very important indeed so make sure you know? Are you going to hire a company or are you simply going to do all of this yourself, this is something that is very important indeed. Of course when it comes to moving things yourself you will find this to be useful as you do not actually have to pay out money to a firm and you get to pack up all the stuff yourself I would still advise you go with a company.

When it comes to choosing a company it can be tough because there are just so many out there, once you have shortlisted a few I would get in touch with them and negotiate the terms and prices.

The timeline is the next thing on the list you must tick off. The reason that you really need to do this is so that nothing is missed off the list. One of the last things you must take a look at is packing. Packing is something you need to look at very early on and it is actually very hard to do indeed.

So those are just a few things that you really need to think about before you are moving out, if you are doing this then you are ensuring everything will work out fine.

Of course the decision is a tough one to make just make sure you look out for the right estate agents like estateagents Battersea. Places to look for property include property to buy in Balham and property to rent in Battersea.

The thought of packing your life possessions and also find a company to safely move them all for you is enough the wipe the smile oof anyone’s face. Finding a new home is great and a lot fun can be had viewing properties with the thought that you may just find the property of your dreams. Once you do find your property the fun is short lived when you realise the hassle that is moving home!

I have moved home a number of times now and I really dislike the whole process. Although this time it was the opposite because I knew I didn’t have to find a home removals or office removals company or track my friend down who owns a van all because I bought a house next door! Of course this idea does sound quite strange however think how easy moving day will be? I know we will still have to pack our things however I won’t have the stress of hiring a removals company all we need to do is walk our things through the gardens.

Unfortunately not everyone will be able to find their ideal property next door so do your research when looking for moving companies, especially London removals. You can be caught out by a lot of pretenders and not professionals so look on moving forums and use your instinct. Ring around as many removal companies as you can to find which firm fits your situation, this is not always the cheapest but trust me it’s worth paying a little more. Don’t make the mistake and leave hiring your removal company to the last minute, plan it at least two or three weeks before. Always try and get least two quotes from British Associated Removers before you select a company.
